Processing Dialog
From the appropriate RF menu, take the option for "Inbound Staging/Putaway" to initiate the process. The screens will be sized as appropriate for your device screen mode as set in the device attributes file. This document depicts all panels in the "HAND" mode. You will be presented with the following panel that is used to enter the staging information.
The tally number is the first field on the panel. It is used to match the shipment with an existing inbound notification. If the tally number is known, you can enter it here. You can also enter the storer's reference number if it is found on the paperwork, and the programming will match that to an existing notification. If the shipment cannot be matched to an existing notification, you will be halted with an error, and a tally header record will have to be created before you can continue.
The item must be entered for each product you unload. The programming will attempt to match what is entered to several different numbers to determine the item code in the WDLS system. The entry will first be matched against existing item codes. If no hit is encountered, a UPC code match is attempted. If that fails, an item x-reference match is attempted. If that fails, a last attempt is made to match the entry to a pallet ID file to determine the item from an existing pallet configuration. In the event the entry is unmatched, an error will be displayed, and you will have to supply a valid entry to continue processing.
The quantity that is being unloaded from the truck must be entered. Each time an item and quantity are entered, it is added to any prior entries. Thus, if it takes three trips to stage 6 pallets, it can be entered as one with a quantity of 6 pallets or 3 times with 2 pallets each trip, and the results will be the same. The quantity can be entered as a formula that includes 'P' for pallet and 'L' for layer, or it can be entered in inventory units.
The type indicates the inventory bucket. If no entry is made the 'A' available bucket is assumed. The possible choices are A-available, H-held, D-damaged, 1-user 1, 2-user 2, and 3-user 3.
After entering the above information, press <Enter>. WDLS will then prompt for lot information. This screen is depicted below.
If your item is lotted, enter the appropriate lot codes into the fields provided and press <Enter>. Once a valid item, lot, and quantity are supplied, the panel will be redisplayed with an entry field to accept the put-away location. If the item/lot already exists in the warehouse and additional capacity exists at that location, some of this item from the tally has already been put-away, or if a suitable location was found using a put-away scheme, a suggested location will appear. The following depicts the panel as it will be re-displayed.
The <F7> key can be used to review the stock status inquiry to assist in determining an appropriate put-away location. When the put-away location is reached, the product is placed in the warehouse, and the location is scanned. Once the location is entered, it will complete the put-away transaction. The initial put-away panel will be displayed. The tally number will remain and the cursor will be placed in the item field for the next activity. When put-away processing is complete, press the <F3> key to exit the panel.
